About Catheter Insertion & Irrigation Trays

Bladder irrigation trays provide all components required for a sterile manual bladder irrigation session — used to flush blood clots, sediment, mucus, or tissue debris from an indwelling catheter after TURP, cystoscopy, bladder biopsy, or when gross hematuria with clot formation is present. The bulb syringe (Cardinal Health/Kendall) draws up and instills irrigation solution via a squeeze-and-release rubber bulb — simple and familiar for routine irrigation. The piston syringe with thumb ring (McKesson) uses a barrel-and-plunger design with a three-point thumb ring grip for single-hand controlled delivery; the elongated extra-large orifice tip accommodates blood clots and mucous shreds that would clog a standard-diameter tip. Both kits are single use, sterile, and include the basin, container, and preparation supplies needed for a complete bedside session. For ongoing home irrigation under clinical direction, the full kit format ensures all required components are sterile and present at every session.
