Hollister M9 Odor Eliminator Spray — Neutralizes Ostomy Odors at the Source, 2 oz & 8 oz
Neutralizes odor. Doesn't just mask it. Safe inside the pouch. Hollister M9 Odor Eliminator Spray is a professional-grade ostomy deodorant that eliminates odor through chemical reaction rather than by simply covering it with fragrance. Designed specifically for ostomy patients, M9 Spray works in ostomy pouches, urostomy bags and tubing, and urinary drainage systems — and it is safe to spray directly inside the pouch, not just into the room air. The non-acidic, non-flammable, water-soluble formula makes it safe for daily use at home or while traveling. Available in Unscented and Green Apple Scent, in a portable 2 oz (60ml) pump bottle and a larger 8 oz (240ml) size for home use. Latex-free. FSA eligible.

Features & Benefits
- Neutralizes Odor — Doesn't Just Mask It — Most air fresheners and room sprays work by layering a stronger fragrance over an unpleasant odor, or by temporarily desensitizing nasal receptors. Neither eliminates the odor. M9 Spray uses a chemical formula that reacts with and neutralizes the odor-causing compounds themselves — eliminating the odor rather than competing with it. Patients who use M9 consistently describe the result as genuinely clean rather than "air freshener on top of the problem."
- Safe to Use Inside the Pouch — M9 Spray is specifically formulated to be safe inside urostomy bags and drainage tubing — a key clinical advantage over general-purpose deodorizers not designed for internal pouch use. Spraying a few pumps inside the pouch before draining or closing addresses odor at the point of origin. For colostomy and ileostomy users, spraying inside the pouch before emptying is the most effective application method.
- Non-Acidic Formula — Safe for Pouching Materials — The non-acidic formula protects ostomy pouch and drainage bag materials from degradation over time. Acidic sprays can break down plastics and sealing materials in pouching systems with repeated use. M9's neutral pH formula is safe for daily use on and around all major brand pouching systems.
- Non-Flammable & Water-Soluble — The non-flammable formula is safe for use in any home or care facility environment. The water-soluble formula rinses cleanly without leaving residue on surfaces, tubing, or pouch materials. These properties together make M9 Spray practical for everyday use by both patients and caregivers in any setting.
- Unscented or Apple Scent — Your Choice — The Unscented version (7732, 7733) is the better choice for fragrance-sensitive patients or those who want to confirm odor elimination without a masking fragrance. The Green Apple Scent version (7734, 7735) leaves a light, pleasant finish after neutralization. Many patients keep both — unscented for inside-the-pouch use, scented for room air use.
- 2 oz Travel & 8 oz Home Sizes — The 2 oz pump bottle fits easily in a travel bag, purse, or ostomy supply kit for discreet use away from home. The 8 oz bottle is the practical home-use size for stocking at the bathroom or changing station. Ordering both sizes is a common approach for patients who need odor control at home and on the go.
- Works With All Ostomy Brands — M9 Spray is not brand-specific. It works equally with pouching systems and drainage appliances from Hollister, ConvaTec, Coloplast, and all other major manufacturers. No brand matching required.
- Latex-Free — Not made with natural rubber latex — safe for patients and caregivers with latex sensitivity or allergy.
- FSA / HSA Eligible — Purchase with Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account funds as an ostomy care supply.
M9 Spray vs. M9 Drops — Which Hollister Odor Eliminator Is Right for You?
| Feature | Hollister M9 Odor Eliminator Spray (7732–7735) | Hollister M9 Odor Eliminator Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Format | Pump spray bottle | Drop applicator bottle |
| How Applied | Sprayed inside pouch, into drainage system, or into room air | A few drops added directly into the pouch before closing |
| Best For | Dual use — inside pouch AND room air from one product | Inside-pouch use only — precise drop-by-drop control |
| Sizes Available | 2 oz · 8 oz | Single size |
| Scent Options | Unscented · Green Apple | Unscented · Scented |
| Latex-Free | Yes | Yes |
| FSA Eligible | Yes | Yes |
Bottom line: Both formats use the same neutralizing chemistry and deliver the same odor-eliminating result. Choose the Spray if you want the flexibility of inside-pouch use AND room air use from one product — it is the more versatile option. Choose the Drops if you prefer precise drop-by-drop control directly into the pouch and do not need a room air application. Many patients keep both on hand.
How to Use M9 Odor Eliminator Spray
Method 1 — Inside the Ostomy Pouch or Drainage Bag
- Point the spray nozzle away from your face before pumping.
- Direct 2–3 pumps inside the ostomy pouch or urostomy bag — before draining, or after closing following a pouch change.
- For urinary drainage bags and tubing, spray directly into the bag through the drainage port.
- Repeat as needed at each pouch drain or change.
Method 2 — As a Room Spray
- Point the spray away from face and eyes.
- Spray 2–3 pumps into the room air — sufficient for a standard bathroom.
- Avoid breathing the mist directly. Repeat as needed.
Important: Do not spray directly onto skin, wounds, or the stoma. Do not take internally. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children.
