Medicare stopped lift chair reimbursement in the early 90's and now will only reimburse for the chair's lift mechanism and motor. this will usually come out to be about $300. However, due to Medicare Competitive Bidding, this can only be done by a local provider that has won the bid. Also, it will require a physicians order as well as full documentation justifying the need.
