3M Medipore Dress-It Pre-Cut Dressing Cover — Soft Cloth, Hypoallergenic, 5 Sizes
Highly adhesive where it matters. Gentle where it counts. 3M Medipore Dress-It Pre-Cut Dressing Covers are breathable, hypoallergenic soft cloth covers made from non-woven polyester — designed to secure primary dressings, anchor post-surgical dressings, and retain gauze in place without the skin trauma that standard medical tapes cause on fragile, sensitive, or repeatedly-taped skin. The cross and diagonal stretch built into the cloth conforms to body contours and accommodates moderate swelling, edema, and movement without lifting or losing adhesion. No paper liner, no curling, no self-adhesion — easy to handle with or without gloves and easy to tear from the pad. Available in five pre-cut sizes from 3-7/8 x 4-5/8 inch through 7-7/8 x 11 inch.
✔ Soft Non-Woven Polyester — Breathable & Gentle on Skin ✔ Excellent Cross & Diagonal Stretch — Conforms & Accommodates Swelling ✔ Highly Adhesive — No Curling, No Self-Adhesion ✔ No Paper Liner — More Economical, Less Waste ✔ Latex-Free & Hypoallergenic ✔ 5 Pre-Cut Sizes

Indicated For — Uses & Applications
- Securing primary dressings to fragile or sensitive skin where standard tape would cause trauma
- Anchoring post-surgical dressings — stable hold over the full post-operative period
- Retention sheeting over gauze — replaces tape strips for full-coverage gauze securement
- Securing dressings over areas where skin may stretch — edema, distention, hematoma sites, or high-movement areas
- Securing ostomy pouches to fragile periostomal skin
- Repeated taping applications where adhesive trauma from standard tape is a concern
- Patients with fragile, thin, or sensitive skin — elderly patients, patients on steroids, radiation-damaged skin
- Any application where a breathable, conformable, high-adhesion cloth cover is needed in place of standard medical tape
How Medipore Dress-It Works — What Makes It Different From Standard Tape
Standard medical tapes apply adhesive in a strip format — coverage is limited to the tape width, edges can lift on irregular surfaces, and repeated application on fragile skin causes maceration and stripping. Medipore Dress-It takes a different approach: a full pre-cut pad of breathable soft cloth with adhesive across the entire backing, designed to cover and secure the complete dressing in one step rather than framing it with individual tape strips.
- Full-pad adhesive coverage — the entire backing is adhesive, distributing hold across the full dressing surface rather than concentrating stress at tape edges
- Cross and diagonal stretch — the non-woven polyester stretches in multiple directions, accommodating swelling, edema, and body movement without the cover lifting or creating pressure points at the dressing edges
- Breathable and porous — allows moisture vapor and air exchange through the cover, reducing maceration risk under the dressing and maintaining skin integrity over extended wear
- Water resistant — resists moisture penetration from external sources while remaining breathable from beneath
- No paper liner — faster to apply, less waste, and no liner disposal; pads tear off easily from the pad stack without self-adhesion or curling
- Easy with gloves — cloth backing handles cleanly with gloved hands without bunching, sticking, or misaligning during placement
Choosing the Right Size
- 2954 (3-7/8 x 4-5/8") — Smallest size. Best for compact primary dressings, pediatric applications, or smaller wound sites where the larger pads would overhang unnecessarily.
- 2955 (3-7/8 x 7-7/8") — Narrow and elongated. Ideal for limb dressings, shin wounds, forearm and lower leg post-surgical sites, or any wound with a longer footprint than it is wide.
- 2956 (5-7/8 x 5-7/8") — The standard general-purpose size. Covers most common wound dressings and gauze pads — the most versatile option for a general supply.
- 2957 (5-7/8 x 11") — Large coverage. Well suited to abdominal surgical sites, large wound dressings, or any site requiring extended coverage in one direction.
- 2958 (7-7/8 x 11") — Maximum coverage. For very large wounds, full abdominal post-surgical dressings, torso applications, or bariatric patients where maximum coverage area is needed.

Application Instructions
- Apply primary dressing or gauze to the wound as directed
- Tear off one Medipore Dress-It pad from the stack
- Center the pad over the primary dressing — ensure adequate overlap on all sides to secure edges
- Press down from center outward to adhere, smoothing gently to conform to body contours
- For areas with swelling or movement, allow the cloth to stretch naturally rather than pulling the skin taut
- Change as directed by a healthcare professional or when the primary dressing requires changing
