3M Tegaderm High Performance Foam Adhesive Dressing — Self-Securing, Shower-Safe, 8 Sizes
All-in-one absorbency, securement, and protection — no tape, no secondary dressing required. The 3M Tegaderm High Performance Foam Adhesive Dressing is a bordered multi-layer foam dressing that combines a highly absorbent polyurethane foam pad with a self-adhesive transparent film border — delivering complete wound coverage, exudate management, and external barrier protection in a single self-securing dressing. Its moisture-reactive design adapts dynamically to changing exudate levels throughout the healing process, absorbing heavily when output is high and retaining moisture when the wound is drier — maintaining an optimal moist wound environment without the clinician having to switch dressings. Available in square, oval, and contoured shapes with a unique Spoke Delivery System for one-handed application to even the most difficult body contours — heels, elbows, and other curved surfaces — without the need for cutting.
✔ Multi-Layer Moisture-Reactive Foam — Adapts to Low-to-High Exudate ✔ Self-Adhesive Film Border — No Tape or Secondary Dressing Needed ✔ Spoke Delivery System — One-Handed Application to Heels, Elbows & Contours ✔ Waterproof — Shower-Safe When Intact ✔ Bacterial & Viral Barrier — Prevents Exudate Strike-Through

Indicated For — Wound Types
- Pressure ulcers — all stages, including difficult contour sites such as sacrum and heel
- Venous leg ulcers — primary dressing, compatible with light compression
- Arterial and neuropathic (diabetic) foot ulcers
- Partial and full thickness dermal wounds with low to high exudate levels
- Skin tears and abrasions requiring a gentle self-adhesive dressing
- Superficial and partial thickness burns
- Surgical wounds and post-operative sites
- Difficult body contour wounds — heels, elbows, shoulders, toes, chins, noses
- Wounds requiring longer wear time with minimal dressing changes
Note: Not intended for use as a pressure reduction device or surgical sponge. For infected wounds use only under the direction of a healthcare professional. The soft cloth border version (90615) border adhesive is not waterproof.
How It Works — What Makes It Different
Standard bordered foam dressings absorb at a fixed rate — they perform well in a narrow exudate range, then either leak when output is high or dry out the wound when output drops. Tegaderm High Performance Foam Adhesive is built as a moisture-reactive system. The superabsorbent nonwoven layers respond to the amount of exudate present — wicking and locking away more fluid under heavily draining conditions to prevent maceration, while retaining the moisture needed to maintain a healing environment when the wound dries. This self-regulating behavior means one dressing type manages the wound across changing conditions without requiring a product switch. The transparent film border provides a waterproof, bacterial and viral barrier seal around the foam pad — holding the dressing in place, protecting periwound skin, and keeping external contaminants out for the full wear period.
- Moisture-reactive superabsorbent layer — handles more fluid when exudate is high, retains moisture when it drops
- Polyurethane foam wicks exudate rapidly away from the wound surface with minimal swell — minimizes disruption of healing tissue
- Breathable film backing continuously evaporates moisture — prevents dressing saturation and maceration
- Thin, low-profile film adhesive border — holds securely, minimizes edge roll and lift on active patients
- Film border provides waterproof bacterial and viral barrier seal around the entire dressing
- Spoke Delivery System allows one-handed application without cutting — specifically designed for heel, elbow, and curved body sites
- Soft and conformable — molds to body contours for patient comfort and mobility
- Non-adherent foam face — won't bond to wound bed, minimal disruption on removal
- Sterile and latex-free — safe for all clinical and home care settings
The Spoke Delivery System — One-Handed Application Anywhere
Most bordered dressings require cutting to fit curved anatomy — a time-consuming step that compromises border integrity and introduces misalignment risk. Tegaderm Foam Adhesive uses a Spoke Delivery System — a star-shaped release liner with individual spokes that peel away one at a time, allowing the clinician to press each section of the adhesive border down sequentially around the foam pad. This approach lets the dressing conform naturally to curved and irregular surfaces — heels, elbows, shoulders, and other contoured sites — without any cutting, without stretching the film, and without losing the waterproof seal at the edges.
- Star-shaped spoke liner peels away in sections — press each border tab down individually for perfect contouring
- No cutting required — dressing conforms to heels, elbows, and irregular anatomy intact
- One-handed application — practical for self-care by patients at home
- Works with gloves — liner design prevents dressing from sticking to gloves during application
- Maintains full waterproof border seal even on curved surfaces
Choosing the Right Size
- 90610 — 3½" x 3½" Square — 10/box — Small square — ideal for compact wounds, small pressure injuries, IV sites, and minor surgical wounds
- 90611 — 4" x 4½" Square — 10/box — Standard medium square — one of the most widely used sizes for general pressure ulcer and wound management
- 90612 — 5½" x 5½" Square — 10/box — Large square — broad wound coverage for larger pressure injuries, surgical sites, and heavily exuding wounds
- 90613 — 5⅝" x 6⅛" Oval — 10/box — Large oval — pressure injuries and wounds on rounded body areas where oval coverage provides better conformance
- 90614 — Heel/Elbow Contoured — 10/box — Specifically shaped for heel and elbow wounds — the Spoke Delivery System ensures full border adhesion on these challenging curved sites without cutting
- 90615 — Soft Cloth Border — 10/box — Soft cloth adhesive border version — ideal for sensitive skin or patients who find standard film borders uncomfortable; note border adhesive is not waterproof
- 90616 — 2¾" x 3" Oval Mini — 10/box — Smallest oval — perfect for minor wounds, skin tears, toe and finger wounds, and small acute injuries
- 90619 — 2¾" x 2¾" Square Mini — 10/box — Smallest square — compact coverage for very small wounds, pediatric applications, and tight anatomical locations
