Hollister Adapt CeraRing Barrier Ring — Ceramide-Infused, Flextend M Formula, Flat & Convex, Box of 10
The Adapt barrier ring — upgraded with ceramide. The Hollister Adapt CeraRing Barrier Ring takes the proven Adapt flat barrier ring format and upgrades it with a ceramide-infused Flextend M skin barrier formulation — making it the only ostomy barrier ring on the market that actively supports the skin's natural moisture barrier chemistry from the inside of the ring out. Ceramide is a natural lipid found in the outermost layer of skin where it plays a critical role in maintaining hydration and structural integrity. When peristomal skin is repeatedly exposed to output, adhesive changes, and mechanical stress, ceramide levels in that skin are depleted — the CeraRing formula replenishes that ceramide content during wear, helping keep peristomal skin healthy, hydrated, and resilient from day one. The ring can be stretched, molded, cut, and stacked for a custom fit — the same versatile customization of the standard Adapt ring, now with clinically meaningful skin chemistry support. Individually packaged in convenient transparent trays. Latex-free. Available in Standard Flat 2" (8805), Slim Flat 2" (8815), and Convex (89530). Box of 10. HCPCS A4407. FSA eligible.

Available SKUs
| SKU | Variant | Shape | OD / Size | Thickness | Best For | Count |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8805 | CeraRing Standard | Flat | 2" (48mm) | 4.5mm | Standard adult stoma · Deeper skin contours · Most common starting point | Box of 10 |
| 8815 | CeraRing Slim | Flat | 2" (48mm) | 2.3mm | Thinner profile · Use with convex barriers · Frequent changers · Less fill needed | Box of 10 |
| 89530 | CeraRing Convex | Convex | 1-3/16" (30mm) — stretches to 1-3/8" (35mm) | Convex profile | Flush or retracted stomas · Adds convexity · Stack for increased convexity · CeraPlus Soft Convex pairing | Box of 10 |
Sizing tip: Start with the Standard 8805 for most applications. Move to the Slim 8815 if used under a convex barrier or if a thinner profile is preferred. Choose the Convex 89530 for flush or retracted stomas needing peristomal pressure support. Rings can be stacked — two Slim (8815) equal approximately one Standard (8805) in thickness.

Features & Benefits
- Ceramide-Infused — Actively Supports Peristomal Skin Health — Ceramides are the primary lipid component of the skin's outer barrier layer — the stratum corneum. They function as the biological "mortar" between skin cells, sealing the skin surface against moisture loss and external irritants. Peristomal skin is one of the most ceramide-depleted areas of the body in ostomy patients — repeated adhesive changes, output exposure, and mechanical cleaning strip the ceramide content from the skin surface over time, leaving peristomal skin increasingly vulnerable to dryness, irritation, and breakdown. The CeraRing formula delivers ceramide directly to the peristomal skin surface throughout the wear period — replenishing what daily pouch management removes, and supporting the skin's natural protective barrier chemistry from day one of use. No other barrier ring on the market does this.
- Flextend M Formula — Extended Wear Performance — The CeraRing uses Hollister's Flextend M extended wear barrier material — the same hydrocolloid technology used in Hollister's premium extended-wear skin barriers. Flextend M resists moisture erosion better than standard hydrocolloid formulations, maintaining the ring's structural integrity and seal performance throughout a longer wear cycle. For patients who change every 4–5 days, this durability prevents the ring from becoming a source of leakage before the barrier itself reaches its change interval.
- Flat and Convex Options — One Brand, Every Profile — The flat Standard (8805) and Slim (8815) rings fill skin depressions and even out contours for all standard stoma profiles. The Convex (89530) adds a shaped convex profile that delivers uniform inward pressure around the stoma — clinically indicated for flush, retracted, or below-skin-level stomas where a flat ring cannot create the gentle protrusion needed for a reliable seal. The convex ring can be stacked to build customized levels of convexity without requiring a fully convex barrier system.
- Moldable, Cuttable, Stackable — Full Customization — Like the standard Adapt ring, the CeraRing can be stretched to fit larger stoma openings, cut to address specific skin areas, bent to follow irregular contours, and stacked for added thickness. Two Slim (8815) rings stacked equal approximately one Standard (8805) in thickness — allowing precise thickness calibration for different peristomal profiles. The ceramide content does not change or diminish through handling.
- Individually Packaged Transparent Trays — Each CeraRing is individually packaged in a clear, flat transparent tray — a packaging format that keeps the ring's shape intact, makes it easy to peel and apply without the ring folding or sticking to itself, and allows visual confirmation of the ring before opening. The tray format is more convenient for patients with limited dexterity than foil-wrapped rings that require unfolding and flattening before use.
- Sting-Free — No Alcohol — The CeraRing formula contains no alcohol. Application is completely sting-free on intact or sensitive peristomal skin. For patients who have moved away from paste products because of stinging, the CeraRing provides equivalent or superior sealing performance without any discomfort on application.

Bottom line: The CeraRing is the premium upgrade to the standard Adapt ring — same versatile format, meaningfully better for peristomal skin health through the ceramide formula and Flextend M extended wear material. If peristomal skin is showing signs of damage, dryness, or early breakdown — or if you want active skin support built into your ring from day one — the CeraRing is the better clinical choice. If budget is a primary concern and peristomal skin is currently healthy, the standard Adapt ring delivers strong performance at lower cost.
How to Apply the Adapt CeraRing
Flat Ring (8805 / 8815)
- Clean and dry peristomal skin thoroughly before application.
- Remove the CeraRing from its transparent tray packaging. The tray format keeps the ring flat and ready to apply — peel from the tray without folding.
- If customization is needed — stretch to fit a larger stoma opening, or cut to address a specific skin contour before removing the backing.
- Peel the backing and center the ring around the stoma. Press firmly onto peristomal skin with light finger pressure. Smooth toward the stoma base for full inner-edge contact.
- Apply the skin barrier over the ring and press firmly outward from the stoma with palm pressure for 30–60 seconds.
Convex Ring (89530)
- Clean and dry peristomal skin. Remove from tray packaging.
- Stretch the ring opening if needed — the 89530 stretches from 1-3/16" to 1-3/8" to accommodate different stoma sizes.
- Apply the convex side facing the skin, centered on the stoma. Press firmly in place and hold for 30 seconds.
- Apply the skin barrier over the convex ring. The convex profile will create gentle inward pressure around the stoma base when the barrier is pressed into place.
- For more convexity — stack a second 89530 ring on top of the first before applying the barrier.
Removal: Peel gently with the barrier at change time. The transparent tray packaging allows each ring to be pre-staged at change time for faster, smoother application.
