Description

Coloplast InterDry Ag Antimicrobial Moisture-Wicking Fabric with Silver — For Skin Fold Management & Intertrigo

The specialized solution for managing skin-on-skin moisture, friction, and bioburden. Coloplast InterDry is a knitted polyester textile impregnated with complex silver to manage intertriginous dermatitis (intertrigo). It wicks moisture away from skin folds, minimizes friction, and delivers broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection for up to 5 days.

Coloplast InterDry is not a traditional wound dressing; it is a high-performance "smart" textile designed specifically for the unique challenges of skin folds. In areas where skin touches skin—under breasts, in abdominal folds, groins, or axilla—trapped moisture and friction lead to skin breakdown and fungal or bacterial overgrowth. InterDry works through a three-way action: the fabric wicks moisture away to be evaporated, the specialized knit reduces friction (skin-on-skin rubbing), and the silver integrated into the fabric kills bacteria and yeast (including Candida albicans). This reduces itching, odor, and inflammation while allowing the skin to heal naturally. Available in three convenient formats including a 144-inch roll for custom sizing.

✔ Moisture Wicking — Moves Sweat Away from Skin Folds    ✔ Friction Reduction — Smooth Textile Prevents Rubbing    ✔ Antimicrobial Silver — Kills Bacteria and Yeast for 5 Days    ✔ Odor Control — Neutralizes Odors Caused by Bioburden    ✔ Safe for Intact Skin — Non-Adherent and Breathable    ✔ Cut to Size — Customizable for Any Body Contour    ✔ Clinical Standard — The Leading Solution for Intertrigo

Why InterDry is Superior to Powders and Creams

Traditional treatments for skin fold irritation—such as cornstarch, antifungal creams, or zinc oxide—often exacerbate the problem by creating a "paste" that traps moisture against the skin. InterDry provides a mechanical advantage:

    • Continuous Wicking: Unlike creams that sit on the surface, InterDry's knit structure acts as a pump, moving moisture to the edge of the fabric where it can evaporate into the air.
    • Reduced Shear: The low-friction surface allows skin folds to slide against the fabric rather than rubbing against each other, preventing the "raw" feeling associated with intertrigo.
    • Silver Protection: The complex silver is effective against the most common skin fold pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans (yeast).

Indicated For — Clinical Use Cases

    • Intertriginous Dermatitis (Intertrigo): Redness, itching, and burning in skin folds.
    • Under-Breast Moisture: Managing perspiration and preventing "bra-line" rashes.
    • Abdominal Pannus Folds: Wicking moisture and preventing breakdown in large skin folds.
    • Groin and Axilla (Armpit): Managing moisture in high-friction, high-heat areas.
    • Device-Related Moisture: Placing under tracheostomy ties, ostomy belts, or other medical devices to prevent skin maceration.

    Application Instructions

    1. Cleanse & Dry: Gently wash the skin fold and pat it thoroughly dry.
    2. Measure: Cut a piece of InterDry large enough to cover the affected area, ensuring you leave at least 2 inches of fabric exposed outside the skin fold. This "wicking tail" is essential for moisture evaporation.
    3. Place: Lay the fabric flat into the skin fold. Ensure there are no wrinkles or bunches.
    4. Secure: Secure the fabric in place by the skin fold itself, or by using a small piece of skin-friendly tape or the patient’s clothing. Do not cover the "wicking tail" with tape.
    5. Monitor: Inspect the skin daily. Replace the fabric every 5 days or sooner if it becomes visibly soiled with urine, stool, or heavy perspiration.
