A reusable elasticated tubular bandage providing tissue support and light-to-moderate compression for sprains, strains, soft tissue injuries, edema, post-burn scarring, and leg ulcer management. Applied as a double layer to the appropriate size limb, Tubigrip delivers 10–15 mmHg sub-bandage pressure. No pins or tape required. Seamless cotton construction adjusts to body contours and distributes pressure evenly. Washable and reusable. Available in 1-yard single cuts and 10-yard economy rolls in natural and beige.
Contraindications — Do Not Use If

⚠ Contains natural rubber latex — confirm no latex allergy before ordering. Measure the limb circumference at the widest point of the area to be covered. Questions? 1-866-218-0902
Key Features
- ⚠ Contains natural rubber latex — not for use by patients with latex allergy or sensitivity
- Double-layer application delivers 10–15 mmHg sub-bandage pressure — single layer provides support only, without therapeutic compression
- Seamless elasticated cotton construction — conforms to body contours without bunching; distributes pressure evenly over the surface
- No pins or tape required — Tubigrip stays in place through circumferential elastic tension alone
- Reusable — hand-washable in cold water; reuse until elasticity is lost, typically 4–6 months
- Cut-to-length from 10-yard rolls — only the exact length needed is cut, reducing waste
- 1-yard pre-cut options (Sizes B–F) for single-application convenience
- Available in natural and beige colorways
- Applicator tool available separately — aids application over bulky dressings or painful joints
- FSA eligible
Application Instructions
- Measure the limb circumference and select the correct size from the chart above
- Cut Tubigrip to twice the length required for the limb, allowing an extra 2–3 cm for overlap
- Pull Tubigrip onto the limb like a stocking — starting at the foot/base of the area
- Double the Tubigrip back over the limb — ensure the upper edge of the folded layer sits 2–3 cm higher than the first layer
- Smooth both layers to ensure even distribution without wrinkles or constriction points
Removal: Remove at night when the patient is supine — pull over the foot like a pair of socks. Never leave Tubigrip slouched or bunched at the ankle; this creates a tourniquet effect restricting circulation.
Clinical FAQs
Why must Tubigrip be applied as a double layer and what compression does it deliver?
A single layer of Tubigrip provides tissue support — it holds the limb gently and can help retain dressings or reduce mild swelling, but it does not deliver clinically meaningful compression. When folded back to create a double layer, the two layers of elastic tension combine to generate 10–15 mmHg of sub-bandage pressure at the appropriate limb size. This light compression level is clinically useful for mild to moderate edema reduction, soft tissue support in sprains and strains, and maintenance of reduced limb size following treatment with stronger compression. It is significantly lower than the 40 mmHg used in the PROFORE LF venous ulcer system — Tubigrip is appropriate for milder compression needs and as a maintenance bandage, not for active venous ulcer treatment. Always apply as a double layer; a single layer will not provide the therapeutic compression effect.
How do I select the correct size and what happens if I choose the wrong size?
Measure the circumference of the limb at the widest point of the area to be covered — typically the widest part of the ankle/calf for lower limb applications or the widest part of the forearm for upper limb. Match the measurement to the size chart: select the size whose circumference range includes your measurement. If the limb circumference is near the upper boundary of a size, consider sizing up for comfort. Using a Tubigrip that is too small creates excessive pressure that can cause tissue injury, particularly over bony prominences such as the malleoli or the tibial crest — patients with thin legs or prominent bones require careful size selection and monitoring. Using a Tubigrip that is too large reduces or eliminates the compression effect, as the bandage does not apply sufficient elastic tension to the limb surface.
This product contains latex — who should not use it and what are the alternatives?
Any patient with a documented latex allergy, latex sensitivity, or elevated latex sensitization risk should not use Tubigrip. This includes patients with a history of allergic reactions to latex gloves, balloons, or other latex-containing medical devices; patients with spina bifida (elevated sensitization risk from repeated early-life latex exposure); and anyone who has experienced urticaria, itching, or respiratory symptoms with latex contact. The product label includes an explicit warning: Tubigrip contains natural rubber latex that may cause allergic reactions including anaphylaxis. For patients requiring tubular support or mild compression who cannot use latex products, non-latex alternatives are available — contact our team at 1-866-218-0902 for guidance on latex-free compression bandage options.
What is the care and replacement schedule for reusable Tubigrip?
Tubigrip should be hand-washed daily in cold water and hung to dry — do not machine wash at high temperatures or tumble dry, as heat degrades the elastic. To allow daily washing without wearing a wet bandage, the patient should have two sets — one worn while the other is drying. The bandage should be replaced when it has lost its elasticity and no longer returns to its original dimensions after stretching — typically after 4 to 6 months of regular use. Earlier replacement is needed if the bandage becomes soiled in a way that cannot be cleaned out, if it loses shape and slips constantly, or if the reduction of underlying edema causes it to become too loose for effective compression (at which point a smaller size should also be considered).
