Mobility Scooters in Sarasota, FL: Try Before You Buy at Medical Department Store

Shopping for mobility scooters in Sarasota, FL? The best place to start is sitting in one. At Medical Department Store (MDS), our Sarasota showroom keeps floor models of the brands most people are shopping for, so you can test drive before you commit. We have been serving Southwest Florida for over 25 years, and our team knows that fit matters more than any spec sheet.

MDS carries mobility scooters from Pride Mobility, Golden Technologies, Merits, and EV Rider, and our Sarasota showroom keeps demonstration models on the floor. Between them, these brands cover a wide range of body types, budgets, and daily routines. Whether you need a compact travel model that breaks down for your car trunk, or a sturdier four-wheel scooter for longer outings around Sarasota's parks and shopping areas, we carry both.

Our RESNA-certified mobility specialists will ask you the right questions: How far do you travel each day? Do you mostly stay indoors, or do you ride to downtown Sarasota, the Sarasota Farmers Market, and around your neighborhood? Do you need a vehicle lift to load it independently? Getting those answers right the first time saves a lot of frustration later.

If you are not sure whether a scooter or a power chair is the better fit for your situation, our [Power Wheelchair vs. Mobility Scooter guide] walks through the practical differences clearly. You can also browse our full [Powered Mobility] category, or go straight to our [Power Chairs] page.

Buying a scooter is only part of the picture. MDS services and repairs mobility equipment of any brand, even if you bought it somewhere else or brought it down from up north. Our Sarasota showroom handles in-store service, and if your equipment is too difficult to bring in, call us to talk through your options.

We also sell, install, and service Harmar vehicle lifts. If you want to load your scooter independently without asking family members for help, ask about a Harmar lift when you visit. Call with your vehicle make and model and we will confirm compatibility before you buy.

If you plan to use Medicare, we handle billing directly. Call us before your physician appointment and our staff will explain what your doctor needs to document, then walk you through the rest of the process.

When you are ready, come test drive the mobility scooters Sarasota FL customers count on at our Webber St showroom. See all six Southwest Florida showrooms, hours, and directions on our [Store Locations] page.
