The Aquatec Ocean VIP is Invacare's tilt-in-space shower commode — a clinically specified chair built for users who need postural support and positioning capability during daily showering and toileting, without the institutional footprint of a heavier stainless steel rehab chair. The stainless steel frame with corrosion-free components is built for daily wet-environment use. At 22.5" overall width it navigates residential bathrooms comfortably and fits over standard toilets for daily hygiene without a separate transfer.
The tilt moves from 0° to 35° via a lever on the push bar — the caregiver controls it from behind the chair without having to step around. Three of the five 5" casters have foot-activated brakes. The rear wheel has a directional lock for straight-line travel through doorways, which matters when you're pushing a tilted chair through a tight bathroom. Seat height adjusts across three positions from 19.5" to 25.5". The waterfall-style seat has a hygiene cut-out and includes a soft seat overlay. How does the directional lock on the rear wheel work?
