Description

Derma Sciences Medihoney Hydrocolloid Wound Filler Paste

Medihoney Hydrocolloid Wound Filler Paste is a liquid wound dressing that kills harmful microorganisms and promote an optimal wound healing environment. Medihoney dressings contains an active ingredient called Leptospermum Honey for dynamic moisture balance.

Great for lightly exuditing wounds and hard-to-dress areas, this wound paste is made from active Leptospermu, a specialized species of medical-grade honey that possesses anti-inflammatory properties, bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties, and debridement properties, as well as odor control and pH level control thereby promoting the best possible environment for wound healing.

The dressings are indicated for the management of wounds such as:

  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Venous stasis leg ulcers
  • Arterial leg ulcers
  • Leg ulcers of mixed etiology
  • Pressure ulcers (I-IV)
  • 1st and 2nd degree burns
  • Donor sites
  • Traumatic and surgical wounds
Due to their versatility and lack of toxicity, Medihoney dressings can be used in all stages of wound healing, and can also be used as an important component of wound bed preparation. As such, placing these dressings as the cornerstones of a wound care formulary can take a great deal of the guess-work out of wound management.

Derma Sciences Medihoney Wound Dressing Features:

  • 100% active Leptospermum honey in tube
  • For dry to lightly exuding wounds, or for hard to dress areas
  • Gel and paste versions are nearly identical, except the gel has a more viscous formulation that tends to stay on the wound for longer time periods
