Coloplast Brava Mouldable Ring — Alcohol-Free Ostomy Seal Ring, 2mm & 4.2mm, Box of 10
No paste. No tube. No alcohol. Molds to your exact shape and holds. The Coloplast Brava Mouldable Ring is an alcohol-free, ring-format alternative to ostomy paste — used to create a tight, durable seal between the stoma and the skin barrier by filling the gap at the stoma opening and conforming to uneven skin surfaces, skin folds, scars, and irregular body contours. Unlike paste, the ring is pre-formed and ready to use — break it, stretch it, mold it to fit, and press it into place. No tube, no squeeze, no mess. The erosion-resistant formula absorbs moisture without breaking down during wear, maintaining the seal through the full wear cycle without softening into the gap it was meant to fill. Can also be used to create or enhance mild convexity when additional stoma protrusion support is needed. Completely alcohol-free — no stinging on application, even on sensitive or mildly irritated skin. Available in 2mm Thin (120307) and 4.2mm Thick (120427). Box of 10 rings. HCPCS A4407. FSA eligible.

Features & Benefits
- No Tube, No Mess — Ready to Use From the Box — Paste requires a tube, a finger to smooth it, and careful application to avoid spreading it where it does not belong. The Brava Mouldable Ring eliminates all of that. Each ring comes pre-formed in a protective packet, ready to break from its shape, stretch slightly if needed to fit the stoma, mold to the body contour, and press into place on the skin or on the adhesive side of the barrier. The entire process takes seconds and requires no applicator, no smoothing, and no cleanup of tube tips or fingers. For patients who struggle with tube paste — limited dexterity, limited vision, or simply a preference for cleaner handling — the ring format is a meaningful upgrade.
- Erosion-Resistant — Holds the Seal Through the Wear Cycle — The most common failure mode of standard ostomy paste is softening and erosion during wear from contact with output, moisture, and body heat. When paste breaks down, the gap it was filling reopens, and leakage begins. The Brava Mouldable Ring uses a specifically strengthened, erosion-resistant formula designed to absorb moisture without dissolving — the ring maintains its structural integrity and continues filling the stoma-barrier gap throughout the full intended wear period, not just in the first 24 hours.
- Completely Alcohol-Free — No Sting — The ring contains no alcohol at any concentration. It can be applied directly to intact or mildly irritated peristomal skin without any stinging sensation. This is the primary clinical advantage over paste for patients with sensitive peristomal skin — the ring provides all the sealing benefit of paste with zero discomfort on application.
- Creates or Enhances Mild Convexity — For patients with flat or flush stomas where the stoma does not protrude enough above the skin to create a reliable seal with a flat barrier, the Brava Mouldable Ring provides an important secondary function: when applied and pressed under a flat barrier, the ring's thickness lifts the barrier slightly around the stoma edge, creating a gentle inward pressure that coaxes even a flat stoma to protrude slightly. This mild convex effect can dramatically improve barrier seal on stomas that routinely underperform with flat barriers without requiring a fully convex barrier system.
- 2mm or 4.2mm — Choose the Right Thickness — The 2mm Thin ring (120307) is the standard starting point for most patients — it fills surface-level gaps and skin irregularities with minimal added profile under the barrier. The 4.2mm Thick ring (120427) is used when deeper cavities, pronounced skin folds, significant scarring, or flat/flush stomas require more fill volume and stronger convexity support. When in doubt, start with the 2mm and move to 4.2mm if more fill is needed.
- Moldable to Any Body Shape — The ring can be broken at any point around its circumference and reformed — stretched, pinched, curved — to match the exact contour of the peristomal skin at any point in the ring's circumference. No body shape is standard, and the ring accommodates this by being fully workable until it is pressed into its final position.

| Convexity Support | Yes — creates mild convex effect | No |
| Ease of Handling | No tube, no mess — ideal for limited dexterity | Requires tube handling and smoothing |
| Best For | Flat stomas · Deep folds · Dexterity limitations · Patients who dislike paste · Maximum durability | Targeted filling of specific gaps · Scars · Irregular small areas |

| Used Together? | Yes — ring at the stoma opening, paste or strip paste for specific gaps or folds further out from the stoma. | |
Bottom line: Choose the Mouldable Ring when you want a paste-free, no-mess solution — especially for flat stomas needing convexity support, patients with limited hand dexterity, or anyone whose paste has been eroding before the barrier change. Choose paste for targeted filling of specific small gaps or scars. Both can be used together at the same change for comprehensive peristomal sealing.
How to Apply the Brava Mouldable Ring
Method 1 — Apply to Skin
- Clean and dry peristomal skin thoroughly.
- Remove the ring from its protective packaging. Break the ring at any point and reshape it if needed to match the contour of the skin around the stoma.
- Stretch the ring opening slightly if the stoma is larger than the standard 2" diameter.
- Press the ring firmly onto the skin around the stoma, centered on the stoma opening. Smooth gently with a finger to ensure full skin contact around the entire ring circumference.
- Apply the skin barrier over the ring, aligning the barrier opening over the stoma and ring. Press firmly outward from the stoma with palm pressure.
Method 2 — Apply to the Barrier
- Remove the barrier backing. Press the Mouldable Ring onto the adhesive side of the barrier, centered on the stoma opening.
- Apply the barrier with the ring in place over the stoma. Press firmly from the stoma outward.
Removal: The ring typically lifts with the barrier when the pouch is changed. Any residue can be removed with lukewarm water. An adhesive remover can be used if needed for clean, atraumatic removal.
