Description

ConvaTec ActiveLife Convex One-Piece Urostomy Pouch — Durahesive Pre-Cut Barrier, Fold-Over Tap | SKU 175790–175798, 125361–125369

A lightweight, flexible one-piece urostomy pouching system with a built-in convex Durahesive skin barrier — pouch and barrier permanently attached, nothing to snap or click. Designed for urostomy patients with recessed, flush, or flat stomas where convex pressure is needed to ensure output empties into the pouch. Durahesive adhesive delivers extended wear and turtlenecking protection against urine migration under the barrier. 8" transparent pouch with fold-over tap for easy urine drainage and Accuseal tap for night drainage connection. Anti-reflux valve prevents urine from pooling around the stoma. Belt tabs included. Universal night drainage adapter included per box. Available in 9 pre-cut stoma sizes in 5/box and 10/box quantities. Latex free. FSA eligible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the 175xxx (5/box) and 125xxx (10/box) series?

Both series are the same product — same pouch, same convex Durahesive barrier, same pre-cut sizes. The only difference is pack quantity. The 175xxx series comes in boxes of 5 and is convenient for patients trying a new size or new product, or for lower-volume use. The 125xxx series comes in boxes of 10 and offers better per-unit value for patients who have confirmed their size and are reordering regularly.

Is this a one-piece or two-piece system?

This is a one-piece system — the Durahesive skin barrier and the urostomy pouch are permanently attached and cannot be separated. When the barrier needs changing, the entire system (pouch and barrier together) is removed and replaced. This is different from the ConvaTec SUR-FIT Natura two-piece system where the pouch snaps on and off the barrier independently.

Who should use a convex urostomy pouch?

Convex urostomy pouches are recommended for patients whose urostomy stoma is recessed (below skin level), flush (even with the skin), or flat. The built-in convexity applies gentle inward pressure on the peristomal skin, encouraging the stoma to evert enough to direct urine into the pouch rather than under the barrier. Always confirm with your stoma care nurse that convex is appropriate for your stoma before switching — using convex on a normally protruding stoma is unnecessary and can cause pressure injury.

What is the anti-reflux valve and why does it matter for urostomy?

The anti-reflux valve inside the pouch prevents urine that has drained to the bottom of the pouch from flowing back up toward the stoma when the wearer bends, lies down, or moves. This is especially important during sleep and physical activity. Without an anti-reflux valve, pooled urine can contact the barrier adhesive from the inside and accelerate wear time erosion.

How does the Accuseal tap connect to night drainage?

The Accuseal fold-over tap at the bottom of the pouch opens to connect to a night drainage tube or bedside bag. One universal night drainage adapter is included per box to facilitate the connection. For overnight use, connect the adapter to a standard urinary night drainage bag tubing to allow continuous passive drainage while sleeping without needing to empty the pouch manually.

Is this pouch appropriate for a new urostomy patient?

Pre-cut pouches like this one are best suited for patients whose stoma has fully healed and whose stoma size is stable. Immediately post-surgery, stomas are typically swollen and change size as healing progresses — a cut-to-fit pouch is generally recommended during this period. Once the stoma has stabilized (typically 6–8 weeks post-surgery), a pre-cut pouch can be used if the stoma size matches one of the available openings. Consult your stoma care nurse before switching to pre-cut.
