Standard wound dressings manage either exudate or infection — rarely both, and rarely at the clinical level that moderate to heavily exuding infected wounds demand. Aquacel Ag Extra addresses both simultaneously through two technologies working in tandem. The dual-layer Hydrofiber® matrix absorbs wound fluid on contact, gels into a cohesive sheet that micro-contours to the wound bed, locks exudate and bacteria inside the dressing where they can't spread, and maintains the moist environment the wound needs to heal. At the same time, the ionic silver activates within 30 minutes — killing a broad spectrum of wound pathogens in the dressing and sustaining that activity for up to 14 days without needing to be recharged.
