What is the difference between the B-Series and the E-Series UV lamps?

This is one of the most common questions we get on these lamps — here is a clear comparison:

• B-Series (SKU 2218) — Battery operated. Runs on 5 C-cell batteries for up to 5 hours. No power cord required — fully portable and field-ready. Peak intensity: 730 µW/cm² at 6". Single 4W tube. Best for applications where portability or remote use is needed.
• E-Series (SKU 2211–2214) — AC plug-in (corded). Requires standard 120V outlet. Available in 4W single tube, 6W single tube, and dual 4W tube configurations. Peak intensity ranges from 555 to 1,280 µW/cm² depending on model. Best for fixed clinical, lab, or exam room use where consistent power is available.

What wavelength does the B-Series emit?

The B-Series emits long-wave ultraviolet light in the UV-A range (approximately 320–400 nm). It is not a UV-B or UV-C lamp. Confirm the required wavelength for your specific application before ordering.

What batteries does this lamp require?

Five C-cell batteries are required. Both standard alkaline C-cells and NiCad rechargeable C-cells are compatible. Batteries are not included. A fresh set of alkaline C-cells provides approximately 5 hours of continuous use.
