The Harmar AL580 Next Generation is Harmar's most refined exterior power chair lift — a compact, fully powered hitch-mount platform designed specifically for mid-wheel drive power wheelchairs with 10" drive wheels. At 63 lbs installed it is one of the lightest exterior power chair lifts available. The padded hold-down arm automatically secures the power chair to the platform during transit — no straps, no tie-downs, no secondary securing steps. The platform folds automatically when the chair is not loaded. No power wheelchair modifications required. Manual crank backup and license plate mount included. Optional swing-away available. The Lightest Fully Powered Exterior Power Chair Lift Available

Automatic Hold-Down · No Straps Required The padded hold-down arm swings into position and automatically secures the power chair to the platform — no manual straps, no ratchet tie-downs, no secondary securing steps after loading. Guide the chair onto the platform, press the button, and the lift handles the rest including securing the chair for transit. When you arrive at your destination the same process runs in reverse. For power chair users who need the simplest possible exterior loading experience, the AL580's automatic securement is the defining feature.
63 lb Installed · Fully Powered Lift + Automatic Fold At 63 lbs installed the AL580 is built to add minimal load to the vehicle — preserving towing capacity, fuel economy, and handling. Both the lifting and folding functions are fully powered. When the power chair is not loaded the platform folds up automatically — no manual folding, no leaving the platform deployed. The compact 16.5" × 27" platform keeps the rear profile of the vehicle clean and unobtrusive.
No Chair Modifications · Manual Crank Backup No modifications are required to the power wheelchair before placing it on the AL580 — chair transfers directly from ground to platform and back. Manual crank backup is included for use in the event of a power failure — the chair can be returned to ground level without electrical power. License plate mount included. Optional swing-away allows rear vehicle access without unloading the chair. Class II or III hitch required. Hitch height range 5"–24".
