The Harmar AL1235U Universal Class III Drop Hitch Adapter solves the most common installation problem with outside vehicle lifts — a hitch receiver that sits too high. Required when your hitch is higher than 18" from the ground (without a swing-away bracket) or higher than 17" (with a swing-away). The universal design adjusts to four drop positions — 0", 2", 3", and 5" — and can also be configured for a 2" rise, eliminating the need for multiple adapters across different vehicles.

How to measure your hitch height: With your vehicle on level ground, measure from the ground to the center of the inside of your hitch receiver opening. If that number exceeds 18" (or 17" when using a swing-away bracket), you need a drop adapter. The AL1235U's adjustability means one adapter works across multiple vehicle configurations.
