Invacare
450 lbs · Floor-to-Bed
3-Year Warranty
The Invacare 9805P Hydraulic Patient Lift is Invacare's adjustable-base hydraulic floor lift — the manual alternative to electric patient lifts for home caregivers and care facilities who need a reliable, affordable 450 lb lift system without the cost and maintenance of a power unit. Hydraulic means caregiver-operated: the caregiver pumps the handle to raise, releases the valve to lower. No battery. No charging. No motor service. The 20"–64" lifting range picks patients up from the floor and transfers them to hospital bed height. The adjustable base opens from 22" closed to 42.25" open, fitting around wheelchair legs and under beds. Six-point swivel bar accepts all major Invacare sling styles. 3-year warranty on the lift, 1-year on the hydraulic pump.

The Lifting Range — Floor to Hospital Bed Height
Invacare 9805P — Full Lifting Range
20"
Min — floor position
64"
Max — bed / chair height
44"
Total travel range
6.5"
Base floor clearance
At 20" minimum, the 9805P gets low enough to place the sling under a patient lying on the floor — the most demanding transfer scenario in home and facility care. At 64" maximum, it reaches above standard hospital bed height, completing the full transfer arc without repositioning the lift. The 44" of total travel covers every transfer height in a residential environment: floor to chair, floor to bed, bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet, and back.
How the Hydraulic Lift Works
1
Position and sling
Position patient in sling on bed, chair, or floor. Attach sling to 6-point swivel bar. Both sides attach — patient is supported at the hips and legs.
2
Open base / position lift
Open the adjustable base to 42.25" to fit around wheelchair legs or bed frame. Roll lift into position over patient. Base clearance is 6.5" — fits under most standard beds.
3
Pump to raise
Caregiver pumps the handle to raise the hydraulic boom. Patient lifts smoothly. 360° rotation available — caregiver swings the boom to reposition patient over destination without side-to-side sway.
4
Release valve to lower
Caregiver releases the hydraulic valve — patient lowers smoothly and controllably into the destination position (chair, bed, toilet). Remove sling when patient is seated.
The Adjustable Base — Open and Closed
Closed — 22" Wide
Base closed for navigating through doorways, hallways, and tight spaces between furniture. At 22" closed, the 9805P fits through any standard interior doorway (minimum 24" clear). Close the base before wheeling the lift from room to room.
Open — 42.25" Wide
Base opens to 42.25" for positioning around a wheelchair, over bed legs, or spanning a toilet. The open base straddles standard wheelchair leg rests and most bed frames. Open the base before initiating any transfer — the wider stance is the stable transfer configuration.
Base adjustment is tool-free. The cam-lock mechanism opens and closes the base without tools. One caregiver manages the entire sequence — base adjustment, positioning, pumping, rotation, and lowering — alone.
Key Features
Six-Point Swivel Bar — All Sling Styles
The padded six-point swivel bar accepts every Invacare sling attachment style — Premier, Reliant, Standard, Full Body, Divided Leg, Easy Fit, and Toileting slings. The six attachment points distribute the patient's weight across the sling more evenly than four-point bars, and the padding protects both the patient and the sling from wear at the attachment points.
360° Rotation — No Side-to-Side Sway
Once the patient is lifted, the caregiver can rotate the boom and patient a full 360° to reposition toward the destination — bed, chair, toilet, or wheelchair. The design eliminates lateral sway during rotation, which is the primary source of patient discomfort and caregiver difficulty during transfers that require repositioning direction.
Offset Mast and Boom Design
The offset geometry of the 9805P's mast and boom provides a better lift path than straight-mast hydraulic lifts — the patient is carried in a more natural arc that follows the body's center of gravity rather than pulling the patient in a straight vertical line. The offset also maximizes the usable travel range within the 20"–64" specification.
Pump Handle — Rotates Side to Side
The pump handle rotates to the right or left of the lift for caregiver convenience — accommodating different room layouts where the caregiver approaches from one side or the other. The elongated handle design serves a broad range of caregiver heights without requiring the caregiver to bend or over-reach during pumping.
Easy Disassembly for Transport
The 9805P disassembles for transport and storage without tools. The boom removes from the mast, and the mast separates from the base — the three main components fit in a standard vehicle for transport to secondary care locations, appointments, or family travel.
Low-Friction 5" Casters
Front and rear casters are 5" with low-friction bearings — minimizing the rolling resistance the caregiver works against when positioning the loaded lift. Rear casters are braked to hold the lift in position during transfer. Optional locking casters available separately for facilities that require full four-caster lockout.
Steel Construction — Painted Finish
Durable steel frame with a beige painted finish — easier to clean in home and facility environments than chrome-plated alternatives. The painted finish resists the surface rust that exposed metal can develop in humid bathroom environments. Wipe-clean between transfers.
No Battery — No Charging — No Motor Service
A hydraulic lift has one moving mechanical system — the hydraulic pump. No battery to charge, no motor to service, no electronics to fail. For home caregivers who need a reliable lift that is always ready and never needs charging, hydraulic is the correct choice. The 1-year hydraulic pump warranty covers the only service-prone component.

Hydraulic vs Power Lift — Which Is Right?
The 9805P is the correct choice when:
-
Budget is the priority — hydraulic lifts cost significantly less than power lifts at equivalent capacity
-
Reliability without charging is required — hydraulic is always ready; no battery to forget to charge before a transfer
-
Transfers are occasional — for families doing 1–3 transfers per day, the caregiver effort of manual pumping is manageable
-
The care environment has power outage risk — hydraulic works regardless of power availability
A power lift is the correct choice when transfers are frequent (4+ per day), when the caregiver has limited upper body strength, or when the patient requires very precise positioning control during lifting.
✅ Invacare 9805P — 3-Year Lift Warranty
One of the stronger warranty commitments in manual patient lifts — 3 years on the steel frame and lift mechanism, 1 year on the hydraulic pump. Invacare's patient lift product line is backed by an authorized service network. Call us for warranty service:
