Ozone-based CPAP cleaners have faced increasing scrutiny — the FDA has warned that ozone used in concentrations sufficient to kill bacteria exceeds safe levels for human exposure. FAQs

Can the Paptizer sanitize the inside of CPAP tubing?

No — and this is important to understand before purchase. UV-C light travels in straight lines and cannot navigate the interior curves of CPAP tubing or penetrate the full length of a tube from either end. The Paptizer effectively sanitizes all items with exposed flat or exterior surfaces — masks, cushions, headgear, water chambers, and personal items — but the interior of standard CPAP tubing cannot receive adequate UV-C exposure for reliable sanitization. For tubing, continue manual washing with mild soap and water per your CPAP manufacturer's cleaning guidelines.

Is this a replacement for regular CPAP cleaning?

The Paptizer is a complement to regular CPAP cleaning, not a complete replacement. CPAP manufacturers recommend regular washing of masks, tubing, and humidifier chambers with mild soap and warm water to remove physical residue, oils, and buildup. The Paptizer provides UV-C germicidal sanitization between washes — killing bacteria and viruses that manual washing may not fully eliminate. A combined approach — regular washing plus UV-C sanitization — provides the most comprehensive CPAP hygiene maintenance.

Is the Paptizer FDA approved?
