How is the collection bag disposed of after use?

Once catheterization is complete and urine has stopped flowing, reinsert the catheter into the protective housing and replace the hygiene cap over the introducer tip. To empty the bag before disposal, locate the tear strip in the corner of the collection bag and open it; pour urine into a toilet, urinal, or disposal receptacle. The used kit — with the hygiene cap replaced — can then be wrapped and placed in a standard waste bin. Do not flush the catheter or bag components down the toilet. Wash hands after disposal.
