PressureGuard Custom Care Convertible Mattress
The Span America PressureGuard Custom Care Convertible Mattress is available in two versions: non-powered and powered. This mattress features the advanced Star Chamber system, which includes air support cylinders that remain filled with air regardless of whether the surface is powered. Research shows that PressureGuard surfaces are more effective than traditional powered surfaces in promoting healing for Stage IV ulcers.The design of the PressureGuard custom care air cylinders is oriented along the body length, allowing for improved air displacement and weight distribution compared to standard side-to-side configurations, even when not powered. Additionally, PressureGuard incorporates cross-connected elasticized reservoirs that absorb pressure peaks, simulating the effects of powered flotation.
The Custom Care Convertible Mattress is equipped with 6,500 optional powered control units that enable alternating pressure and lateral rotation, enhancing treatment options. It is also Medicare approved under codes E0373 (Group II) for the non-powered version and E0277 (Group II) for the powered version. All PressureGuard models comply with NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) standards for flammability.
