PVI Rear Door Van Ramp — 7' & 8' | 800 lb Capacity | Mounts Inside Van | Made in the USA
/
The PVI Rear Door Van Ramp is the most practical, affordable solution for loading a power wheelchair or mobility scooter through the rear doors of a full-size van — mounted permanently to the van floor, spring-assisted for one-person operation, and built to handle up to 800 lbs across two axles.
Made in the USA by Prairie View Industries — one of the most trusted names in accessibility ramps — and tested to a 3× safety factor. If you need a reliable, permanent rear-door ramp that loads your wheelchair or scooter safely every day without a power unit, a vehicle lift, or a second person, this is the ramp that does that job.
Available in two lengths — 7 foot (VAN727) and 8 foot (VAN827). The 8-foot ramp creates a shallower angle of incline, which is easier on both the mobility device and the user. If your van floor sits higher off the ground, the 8-foot is the better choice. See the vehicle requirements below before ordering.

How It Works
The ramp mounts permanently to the floor of the van just inside the rear doors. When you need to load or unload, one person unfolds the three sections using the spring-assist mechanism — the springs do the heavy lifting, so it takes minimal strength to deploy. The ramp extends out through the rear door opening and rests on the ground behind the vehicle. When finished, fold it back into three sections and it stores vertically inside the doorway — allowing the rear doors to close normally.
The patented center hinge design adds structural strength at the fold point while eliminating the pinch points that standard center hinges create. The anti-slip high traction surface gives wheelchairs and scooters confident grip going up and down — critical for power chair and scooter users navigating a slope independently.

7 Foot vs 8 Foot — Which Length Do You Need?
Both ramps are 27 inches wide. The difference is the angle of incline — a longer ramp creates a shallower slope, which is easier for the mobility device motor and more comfortable for manual chair users. Choose based on your van's floor height and the slope you are comfortable navigating.

Vehicle Requirements — Read Before Ordering
This ramp requires specific minimum dimensions in your vehicle's rear door opening. Measure your van before ordering — a ramp that does not fit your vehicle cannot be used.
- Minimum inside door opening width: 34 inches — required for both 7' and 8' models
- Minimum floor-to-ceiling opening: 37 inches for the 7' ramp · 41 inches for the 8' ramp
- Floor height: If your van's floor is 3"–4" lower than the door jamb, a conversion kit is required (sold separately — call us)
- Threshold: If the rear door opening has a threshold, a conversion kit is required
- Not compatible with Dodge or Chrysler vehicles with Stow 'N Go seating
Important: Measure your door opening before ordering. The 34" minimum width and floor-to-ceiling requirements are firm. A ramp ordered for a vehicle that does not meet these minimums will not install correctly. Call us if you have any doubt: 866-218-0902
Optional Add-Ons
Slope Reducer / Van Ramp Adaptor (VANT2465) — +$139
If the angle of the installed ramp is too steep for comfortable loading — typically when the van floor is higher than average — the slope reducer lays over the existing ramp and reduces the incline. Lightweight durable aluminum with an anti-slip high traction surface. Compatible with both VAN727 and VAN827. Note: when used with the slope reducer, maximum capacity reduces to 300 lbs single axle / 600 lbs two axles.
Conversion Kit
Required if your van's rear door opening has a threshold, or if the floor is 3"–4" lower than the door jamb. Call us to confirm whether your vehicle requires this: 866-218-0902.
