Description

The ShowerBuddy SB7E is called the Minimal for a reason β€” it's the most stripped-back rolling shower commode in the ShowerBuddy lineup, designed for roll-in or curbless showers where space is tight and the priority is a reliable, easy-to-manage chair that doesn't overcomplicate the job. At 17.4 lbs with a 265 lb capacity, it's light enough for a caregiver to handle without strain and sturdy enough for daily use. It folds tool-free and packs into an optional carry bag for travel or closet storage between uses.

The aluminum frame won't rust. The four 4" locking casters maneuver well in tight bathroom layouts. Swing-away height-adjustable footrests clear the front of the chair for transfers. A commode bucket with lid is included so it works as a standalone bedside commode or rolls over most standard toilets for over-toilet use. Fixed armrests β€” not swing-away β€” so if a full lateral transfer is required, compare with the BathMobile or SB7E's bigger siblings in the ShowerBuddy line.

Caregiver-assisted use only β€” the SB7E is not designed for independent self-propelling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the SB7E roll over a standard toilet?
Yes β€” it clears toilets up to 17.5" high and 17.5" wide. That covers most standard residential toilets. Comfort-height or ADA toilets (17–19") may be tight β€” measure your toilet seat height before ordering if you're not sure.

Can it be used as a bedside commode?
Yes. The included commode bucket and lid convert it to a freestanding bedside commode β€” park it anywhere, lock the casters, and it's stable for independent toileting at bedside.

The armrests are fixed β€” how do transfers work?
The SB7E has fixed armrests that don't swing away. Front transfers and assisted transfers work well. Full lateral transfers from a wheelchair are more difficult than on chairs with flip-up arms. If side transfers are a regular requirement, the Seatara BathMobile or a ShowerBuddy model with swing-away arms is a better fit.

How does it fold for travel?
The frame folds without tools β€” takes under a minute once you know the sequence. It fits into an optional carry bag for storage or travel. Not an airline-approved hard case like the BathMobile, but manageable for car travel and short trips.

Is the SB7E self-propelled?
No β€” caregiver-assisted use only. There is no self-propel upgrade available for this model.

What shower type does it require?
It's designed for roll-in or curbless showers with no threshold or step. It cannot be used in a standard tub/shower combo.

What is the weight limit?
265 lbs.
