The Span America PressureGuard® Protocol mattress features an air delivery cover design that gently circulates air beneath its highly breathable coverlet, effectively removing excess moisture vapor to safeguard delicate skin. Its control unit operates with significantly less heat and noise compared to conventional high-output low air loss blowers, while also being more energy-efficient. The mattress is designed with raised edges that enhance safety by preventing users from rolling off the sides, with a 9-inch elevation that keeps them securely positioned.The PressureGuard® Protocol system comes complete with a mattress, a control unit, and a machine-washable coverlet. Caregivers have the option to choose between gentle alternating pressure or powered flotation treatment modes. The auto firm mode adds extra stability for activities of daily living, transfers, and feeding when needed, automatically reverting to the selected treatment mode after 20 minutes. Unlike standard roll-up surfaces, the Protocol mattress can maintain its inflation even during power outages or while being transported.
