MPN: 54366 (Scented) | MPN: 54367 (Unscented) | By Essity / TENA | FSA/HSA Eligible | Latex-Free
Pre-Moistened with Dimethicone Cleansing Lotion | No Water, Basin, Washcloth, or Towel Needed | Microwavable for Added Comfort | Soft Nonwoven 5.9"×9" | 5 Per Soft Pack | Dermatologically Tested | Scented or Unscented
TENA ProSkin Bathing Gloves are pre-moistened, no-rinse disposable cleansing gloves designed for full-body hygiene care as a complete alternative to soap-and-water bed bathing. Each soft nonwoven glove is pre-loaded with a gentle cleansing lotion containing dimethicone — a silicone skin protectant that conditions and shields the skin surface as the glove cleanses — so each wipe simultaneously removes soiling and deposits a protective conditioning layer. The glove format covers the entire hand, providing a secure grip and better control for the caregiver than a flat washcloth, while eliminating the washcloth, water basin, water heating, rinsing, and toweling that conventional bathing requires. For patient comfort and dignity, the gloves can be warmed in a microwave before use. 5 gloves per soft pack — one pack per patient per full-body bath. Available scented (MPN 54366) and unscented (MPN 54367). Each or case of 45 packs (225 gloves). Dermatologically tested. FSA/HSA eligible. Latex-free. By Essity / TENA.

How to Use — Full-Body Bed Bath Protocol
- Optional: warm the gloves. Place the sealed soft pack in the microwave for 15–30 seconds. Test temperature against your inner wrist before applying to the patient — the lotion should feel comfortably warm, not hot.
- Open the soft pack and remove one glove. Slide it onto your hand like a mitten — the glove should cover your hand and fingers fully for grip and control.
- Wipe the designated body area using gentle strokes. The pre-moistened lotion cleanses and conditions in the same motion — no rinsing is needed. The lotion can air-dry on the skin.
- Use one glove per body region to prevent cross-contamination between body areas. The 5 gloves per pack are designed to cover: face and neck, upper body/arms, abdomen, lower body/legs, and perineal area — each in sequence with a fresh glove.
- Dispose of each used glove after its single use. Do not reuse.
- Apply a barrier cream or protectant as directed after the perineal glove step for patients at elevated risk of IAD.
Key Features
- Glove format — better grip, better hygiene than a flat washcloth — the glove covers the entire hand, allowing the caregiver to grip and maneuver with normal hand function rather than managing a flat cloth that slides or bunches; the glove stays in place and provides consistent coverage across the body surface with a secure, controlled contact; the barrier between the caregiver's hand and the patient's skin supports standard hygiene precautions
- Dimethicone active — cleanses and protects simultaneously — dimethicone is a silicone-based skin protectant that forms a breathable, water-resistant film on the skin surface; in the bathing glove lotion, it provides skin conditioning and a light protective barrier layer as the glove cleans; each bathing event leaves the skin both cleaner and more protected than wiping with a plain washcloth would
- No water, basin, or washcloth required — the complete elimination of the water basin removes the basin cross-contamination risk; no water heating, no rinsing, no wet towels, no disposal of soapy water; the entire bed bath is completed with one soft pack and generates only the used gloves as waste
- Microwavable — comfort and patient dignity — cold wipes are one of the most common patient complaints during bed bathing; the ability to warm the gloves before use provides a more natural and comfortable bathing experience, supporting patient dignity and reducing resistance or discomfort during the care routine; always test temperature before application
- 5 gloves per pack — one pack per complete bed bath — five gloves corresponds to the five standard body regions in a structured bed bath protocol: face/neck, upper body, abdomen, lower body, perineal; the single-pack-per-patient-per-bath design supports the intended single-use, per-region protocol without waste
- Soft 5.9"×9" nonwoven — sized to cover the hand fully with adequate surface for effective wiping; the nonwoven material is soft enough for fragile aging skin without causing friction irritation
- Scented (54366) and unscented (54367) — scented version leaves a fresh clean scent for patient comfort; unscented version for patients with fragrance sensitivity or clinical settings requiring fragrance-neutral products
- Dermatologically tested | FSA/HSA eligible | Latex-free | By Essity / TENA
Clinical FAQs
How many gloves should be used per body region, and what is the recommended bathing sequence?
Each pack contains 5 gloves — designed to correspond to the five standard body regions in a complete full-body cleansing: (1) face, neck, and ears; (2) upper body including chest, shoulders, and arms; (3) abdomen and back; (4) lower body including legs and feet; (5) perineal and gluteal area. Using a fresh glove for each region prevents cross-contamination of organisms between body regions — most critically, preventing transfer from the perineal area (which may harbor fecal bacteria) to other body surfaces or to the face. The recommended sequence is face first and perineal last, to ensure that organisms from the perineal region are not introduced to mucous membrane areas. A single caregiver managing a bed bath typically works through the five gloves in this sequence, disposing of each glove into a waste bag before moving to the next region. For patients who are incontinent and received a mid-bath perineal soiling event, an additional glove from a second pack may be needed for the perineal area — having a second pack available at the bedside during the bath prevents care interruption.
What is the correct microwave warming protocol and what temperature should the gloves reach?
To warm the TENA ProSkin Bathing Gloves, place the sealed, unopened soft pack in the microwave. Start with 15 to 20 seconds on medium-high power (microwave wattages vary, so starting conservatively prevents overheating). Remove and test the temperature by pressing the sealed pack against the inside of your wrist — the pack should feel comfortably warm, not hot. If the gloves need more warming, microwave in additional 5-second intervals, testing between each. A few key safety points: never exceed comfortable skin temperature (never apply gloves that feel hot to the wrist); never microwave individual gloves outside the sealed pack, as the open wipe will lose moisture and may become too dry to use effectively; always test temperature before applying to the patient, particularly for patients with reduced sensation (neurological conditions, diabetic neuropathy, dementia) who cannot report discomfort reliably; different microwave wattages will require different warming times — establish a consistent protocol in facility settings and communicate it to care staff. The benefit of warming — beyond patient comfort — is that warm gloves may be more effective at loosening soiling and are better tolerated by patients who resist or experience distress during cold-wipe bed bathing, particularly patients with dementia or anxiety around care routines.
How do TENA Bathing Gloves compare to the TENA Cleansing Cream for daily hygiene — when should I use one versus the other?
TENA Bathing Gloves and TENA Cleansing Cream are both TENA ProSkin products for no-rinse body cleansing, but they are different delivery formats suited to different care contexts. The TENA Cleansing Cream (64410–64435) is a liquid/cream cleanser that the caregiver dispenses from a tube or pump bottle and applies to the skin using a cloth, wipe, or glove; it is particularly practical for targeted perineal care during incontinence brief changes, where a small amount is applied to a specific area, wiped clean, and the tube replaced at the bedside for the next event. It is the higher-volume, cost-effective format for frequent targeted cleansing multiple times daily. The TENA ProSkin Bathing Gloves are a complete all-in-one kit — the cleansing lotion is pre-loaded into the glove material; no dispensing step, no separate cloth, and each glove is used once and disposed; the glove format provides full-hand coverage for a structured full-body bed bath in a way that a liquid cleanser and separate cloth does not. The bathing gloves are the appropriate choice for a complete daily or shift-interval bed bath, for situations where speed of preparation is important, for caregivers who find basin-and-cloth bathing physically demanding, and for patients who benefit from the warmth option and the feel of a soft-gloved wipe. For complete incontinence care protocols, the bathing gloves and cleansing cream complement each other: gloves for the full bed bath, cream for rapid targeted perineal re-cleansing during brief changes throughout the day.
