The ShowerBuddy TubBuddy (SB2) is the bathtub equivalent of the SB1 Transfer System — the same bridge-and-track lateral transfer concept, adapted specifically for standard bathtub environments. Where the SB1 works with step-in showers, the TubBuddy works with tub/shower combos and shower-over-bath setups that most rolling shower commodes can't access at all. No remodeling. No permanent changes. No removing the tub.

The system has three components. The rolling base functions as an attendant wheelchair between bathroom trips and rolls over most standard toilets for commode use. The bridge connects the rolling base to the tub base at the correct height to clear the tub rim. The tub base positions inside the bathtub with anti-slip stabilising feet and side stabilisers that grip the tub walls for lateral stability — no suction cups on the tub floor, which often fail on textured tub surfaces. The caregiver slides the seated user across the bridge and over the tub rim in one smooth motion, connects the shower hose, and the user bathes in the tub seated. The tub base can stay in the tub between uses or be removed.

When not used for bathing, the rolling base functions as a day chair, toilet chair, and bedside commode with the included commode bucket. Supports up to 350 lbs. Seat height adjusts 22.5"–26.5". The TubBuddy SB2 is designed specifically for bathtubs — tubs with a higher rim that a standard bridge can't clear, and where the tub base stabilises inside the tub walls rather than on a shower floor. If your bathroom has a tub/shower combo or a shower-over-bath, the TubBuddy is the right system. If you have a step-in shower stall, the SB1 is the right system. How do the side stabilisers work?
The tub base has adjustable side stabilisers that extend to grip the inside walls of the bathtub — the tub width range is 17" to 26.5". This creates lateral stability inside the tub without requiring the base to be permanently fixed. The anti-slip feet on the base prevent the unit from sliding on the tub floor during use.

What if my tub is higher or deeper than the standard spec?
Height extender (RBE24) and bath base height extender (TBE24) accessories are available to accommodate tubs above 21" in height or 20.75" in depth. Call us to confirm which accessory fits your tub before ordering.

Does it require a caregiver?
Yes — the TubBuddy is a caregiver-assisted transfer system. The caregiver slides the user along the bridge and positions them in the tub, then reconnects for the transfer out. It is not designed for independent self-transfer.

Yes — when not in use for bathing, the rolling base functions as a comfortable day chair. It rolls over most standard toilets for commode use. The included commode bucket and lid provide bedside commode capability when a toilet isn't accessible overnight.
