Deluxe New Era Infection Control Shower Commode Chair

The Deluxe New Era Infection Control Shower Commode Chair by Mor-Medical is a patented, USA-made 5-in-1 shower and commode solution engineered specifically for superior infection control — combining a seamless, fitting-free PVC frame design with exceptional versatility for home, hospital, and long-term care environments.

  • True 5-in-1 functionality serves as a mobile shower chair, commode chair, bedside toilet, toilet safety frame, and elevated toilet seat — rolling over standard and ADA-approved toilets with 3" twin all-locking casters and a flared leg base secured by high-tensile stainless steel bolts for maximum stability
  • Available in multiple seat widths (18"–30") and weight capacities (310–710 lbs) with options including open-front removable soft seat, vinyl strap back, drop arms, soft-touch folding footrests, lap belt, and a 7.5 qt commode pail with odor-trapping lid — backed by a limited lifetime warranty

Description

The Deluxe New Era Infection Control Shower Commode Chair was designed around a problem most shower commodes ignore — fittings. Standard commode chairs use metal or plastic connector fittings at every joint. Those fittings collect soap scum, trap moisture, harbor bacteria, and eventually crack or fail. The New Era eliminates them entirely. The PVC structural frame is held together with high-tensile stainless steel bolts running through seamless tubing — no connectors to clean around, no fittings to break, nothing for pathogens to accumulate in. The result is a chair you can actually disinfect thoroughly, not just wipe down on the surface.

The vinyl strap backrest works the same way — open weave, no foam, no hidden seams. Wipe it down completely in one pass. The removable sealed-foam open-front soft seat lifts out for cleaning or replacement. The 7½ qt commode pail with handle and lid slides out from under the seat without lifting the patient. All casters lock independently.

Available in three internal widths: 18" (310 lb), 22" (385 lb), and 26" (435 lb). Rolls over standard and ADA toilets. Limited lifetime warranty on the frame.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "infection control design" actually mean on this chair?
It means the frame has no connector fittings — the joints that on standard chairs collect soap residue, moisture, and bacteria over time. The New Era uses seamless PVC tubing bolted with stainless steel hardware. Every surface is smooth, exposed, and wipeable. The vinyl strap back has no foam to absorb moisture. The seat is sealed-cell foam with no open pores. Combined, these design choices make thorough disinfection practical rather than theoretical — which is why this chair is used in hospitals, rehab centers, and continuing care facilities.

Which width should I choose?
The 18" internal width fits most standard-size users under 310 lbs. The 22" is better for users who need more lateral room or whose weight approaches or exceeds 310 lbs — it also carries a higher 385 lb capacity. The 26" is purpose-built for bariatric users up to 435 lbs. When in doubt, measure the user's hip width seated and add 1–2" on each side. Call us if you're between sizes.

Does the pail remove without moving the patient?
Yes — that's a specific design feature. The 7½ qt pail slides out from the side without lifting the patient or raising the seat, which reduces caregiver effort and hygiene risk during emptying.

Can this chair be used over a standard home toilet?
Yes. It rolls over standard residential toilets and ADA-compliant toilets without the pail in place. The flared leg base provides stability when positioned over the toilet.

Is an optional seat cover available?
Yes — an antimicrobial, fluid-proof, flame-retardant nylon urethane seat cover is available. It fits the 18" and 22" models in one size, and the 26" model in a separate size. Wipe-clean, stain-resistant, and self-deodorizing. Call us to confirm availability with your order.

What is the warranty?
Limited lifetime warranty on the frame. This is one of the strongest warranties in this product category and reflects the PVC frame's durability in wet environments.
