The Dione PR-446 is an infinite-position chair with four independent motors (back, footrest, power headrest, power lumbar) that can be adjusted to any position independently. The Dione also reaches zero gravity with feet above heart level; the Elara does not. The Elara has a manually adjustable headrest; the Dione has a motorized power headrest. For patients who need only a reliable lift and recline to three positions, the Elara is the lower-cost, simpler choice. For patients who need zero gravity, independent positioning, or power headrest and lumbar, the Dione is the right step up.
The PR-118 Small/Medium fits up to 5'5" and the Large fits from 5'10". Users between 5'5" and 5'10" are not covered by either standard size. The Elara uses a 3-position mechanism rather than an infinite-position recline system. 3-position mechanisms push the footrest forward less aggressively during recline — the chair reaches its full flat position with less forward travel, which means less clearance from the wall is needed.
