The right tape provides secure fixation matched to the patient’s skin condition: cloth and silk tape for strength on intact skin, paper tape for sensitive or post-surgical skin, foam tape for conformability over joints and curved surfaces, and silicone tape for the most fragile or repeatedly dressed skin where even paper tape causes damage.
