Most lift chair seats are flat. The Metro's seat is contoured — shaped to cradle the hips and thighs rather than just support them on a flat surface. Overstuffed Split-Seam Backrest
The back is divided by a center seam into two deeply padded sections — left and right — that conform individually around the spine. Full-Width Power Headrest

The differences: the Metro has the contoured seat and overstuffed split-seam back — a distinctly more enveloping comfort experience — and only 14" of wall clearance required. The Tranquil has a three-pad waterfall back (different support style), comes in three sizes (Small, Medium, Large/Tall), and adds Trendelenburg capability (feet above head). If comfort and fit for a medium-height user are the priorities, the Metro is worth sitting in before you step up to the Tranquil. If you need a size other than Medium, or specifically need Trendelenburg, the Tranquil is the right chair.
No. The PLR-925 offers infinite lay-flat positioning — it reclines to fully flat, and the footrest rises — but it does not reach Trendelenburg where the feet exceed head level. If your physician has specifically recommended Trendelenburg for lower leg edema management or circulation improvement, the PLR-935 Tranquil is the correct Pride chair. If zero gravity (feet at or near heart level) is sufficient, the Metro covers that range comfortably.
Wall clearance is the distance between the back of the chair and the wall required for the chair to fully recline. Most lift chairs need 17–22 inches — meaning the chair must sit that far from the wall. In apartments, smaller living rooms, and tight corners, that distance either is not available or it pushes the chair too far into the room. At 14 inches, the Metro fits against walls where most lift chairs cannot. Measure from your intended wall to where the back of the chair would sit — if you have at least 14 inches, the Metro reclines fully.
