VivaLift Tilt Technology
Shifts the pivot to the rear of the chair, elevating the front of the seat as it reclines — creating a true zero-gravity cradle that standard infinite chairs cannot achieve.
3-Zone Heat
Separate heat pads in the shoulders, lumbar, and seat — three levels each. Most heated lift chairs heat lumbar only. This one heats where arthritis and tension actually live.

Standard infinite-position chairs pivot from under the seat — useful for independent back and footrest movement, but the user's relationship to gravity stays fixed. VivaLift Tilt shifts the pivot point to the rear of the chair so the entire chair tilts as it reclines, elevating the front of the seat. This creates a true cradle effect — body weight distributes more evenly, knees rise above heart level, and the zero-gravity position is deeper and more complete than a standard recline can achieve. It is similar in concept to Golden's Twilight Technology.
Most lift chair massage systems use small vibration motors that buzz at varying frequencies — the sensation is surface-level and some users find it irritating rather than therapeutic. The PLR-4955 uses air-bladder massage: inflatable chambers in the lower back area that inflate and deflate in sequence, applying actual gentle compression pressure. It more closely mimics manual kneading, is better tolerated by patients with back sensitivity or post-surgical recovery needs, and has three intensity settings so you control the pressure level.
No — the PLR-4955 reaches zero gravity (feet at or above heart level) via VivaLift Tilt, but it does not achieve full Trendelenburg where the feet rise above the head. Zero gravity is sufficient for most circulation and edema management needs. If your physician has specifically prescribed Trendelenburg positioning, the Pride Tranquil 2 PLR-935 or the Golden EZ Sleeper with Twilight are the correct chairs to evaluate. Both have 3-zone heat and true infinite positioning. The Ultra adds three things the Radiance does not have: VivaLift Tilt (the deeper zero-gravity cradle), air-bladder massage, and armrest-integrated heat/massage controls. The Radiance is the right call if 3-zone heat is the primary therapeutic need and the deeper tilt and massage are not required. The Ultra is the right call if you want everything Pride makes in one chair. The price difference reflects those additions — not padding.
