S.R. Smith Splash Extended Reach Hi-Lo ADA Pool Lift – 300 lb Aquatic Lift (Part #385-0000)
/
The S.R. Smith Splash! Extended Reach Hi/Lo (385-0000N) is the long-arm version of the Splash! Hi/Lo — a 300 lb ADA compliant pool and spa lift with a longer arm reach designed for facilities where the standard Hi/Lo's reach is insufficient: pools with wider than standard coping, unusual gutter configurations, raised deck sections, or setback requirements that push the anchor point further from the water's edge than the standard Hi/Lo can bridge. Like the standard Hi/Lo, it serves both an in-ground pool and an above-ground spa from a single anchor point. 344-degree rotation. LiftOperator Intelligent Control System with LINAK medical-grade actuator. 24V rechargeable battery. Integrated armrests (California compliant). Waterproof hand control, footrest, and seatbelt included. Semi-portable — removes from anchor for winter storage. Anchor sold separately. Deck Profile Data Sheet required at time of order. ADA compliant (ADAAG 2010), third-party verified. 3-year frame + 2-year electronics + 1-year pro-rated battery warranty. By S.R. Smith. Item 385-0000N.

Extended Reach — What It Solves and What It Costs
The standard Splash! Hi/Lo is engineered for typical pool deck geometry — a standard distance from anchor point to pool edge, standard coping width, standard gutter profile. Most pools fit this geometry. Some don't, and that's what the Extended Reach solves.
What "unusual gutter configuration" means in practice:
- Pools with extra-wide coping or bull-nose edges that push the pool water edge further from where the anchor is placed
- Pools with a raised deck level above the pool edge that requires the lift arm to reach further down and out to position the seat over the water correctly
- Pools where deck infrastructure (drains, expansion joints, structural elements) forces the anchor point back from the pool edge further than the standard Hi/Lo's arm can bridge
- Pools with gutter or overflow systems that create a wider ledge between the anchor zone and the water surface
What the extended arm costs: 100 lbs of capacity. The standard Splash! Hi/Lo handles 400 lbs. The Extended Reach version handles 300 lbs. The longer moment arm of the extended reach design creates more mechanical leverage on the lift structure under load — S.R. Smith's engineering response is to reduce the rated load. If your users are at or under 300 lbs and your pool deck requires extended reach, this is the right model. If any user is over 300 lbs, you need the standard Hi/Lo — and if your pool deck requires extended reach with 400 lb capacity, call us to discuss your options: 866-218-0902.
The Deck Profile Sheet — Even More Critical Here
For the standard Splash! Hi/Lo, the Deck Profile Sheet configures vertical stop heights for your pool and spa levels. For the Extended Reach Hi/Lo, it does all of that plus confirms that the extended arm length is actually needed and correctly sized for your specific deck geometry. S.R. Smith uses the deck profile data to determine whether the ER Hi/Lo will correctly position the seat over your water entry point — an incorrectly sized lift arm (standard when extended is needed, or extended when standard works) leads to a lift that cannot safely reach the water from your anchor position.

LiftOperator Intelligent Control + LINAK Actuator
The ER Hi/Lo uses the same control system as the entire Splash! series: the LiftOperator Intelligent Controller paired with a medical-grade LINAK actuator. Operationally this means programmable stop heights (one for pool level, one for spa level), user-operable waterproof handset control, and a safe position hold at any point in the travel range — if the control is released mid-motion, the seat holds its position rather than dropping. For a lift serving both pool and spa access for users with mobility limitations, the LINAK hold behavior is a meaningful safety feature.
California Compliance — Integrated Armrests
California's pool lift regulations require integrated (non-removable) armrests on certain lift configurations. The Splash! ER Hi/Lo includes integrated armrests as standard, making it California State compliant out of the box. For facilities in other states, the integrated armrests provide the same transfer support as swing-away designs with a more streamlined appearance — no functional trade-off for non-California facilities.

FAQs
Why does the Extended Reach version have lower capacity (300 lb vs 400 lb)?
A longer arm creates a greater mechanical moment — the same weight at the end of a longer arm exerts more stress on the lift's structure and anchor system than the same weight on a shorter arm. S.R. Smith rates the Extended Reach at 300 lbs to keep operating loads within the structural limits of the lift and anchor system. If your users are all 300 lbs or under and your pool deck requires the extended reach, the ER Hi/Lo is the appropriate model. If you have users over 300 lbs, call us to discuss what options exist for your pool geometry: 866-218-0902.
How do I know if my pool needs Extended Reach?
The Deck Profile Sheet and consultation with S.R. Smith's technical team (coordinated through us) determines whether your pool requires extended reach. Common indicators: wider than standard pool coping (over 12"–14" wide), a raised deck level above the pool edge, an overflow gutter system that creates extra ledge width, or structural deck elements forcing the anchor point back from the pool edge. Call us with your pool measurements and we will guide you: 866-218-0902.
What if I have a pool and spa but my users are over 300 lbs?
If you need pool + spa dual access with 400 lb capacity, you need the standard Splash! Hi/Lo. If your pool geometry genuinely requires extended reach and 400 lb capacity simultaneously, call us — there may be installation solutions that bring the anchor point closer to the water edge, allowing the standard Hi/Lo to work: 866-218-0902.
Does it work for both pool and spa?
Yes — the ER Hi/Lo is the extended-reach version of the Hi/Lo; it serves both an in-ground pool and an above-ground spa from one anchor, with configurable stop heights for both water levels. For spa only, see the Splash! Spa. For pool only with extended reach, see the Splash! Extended Reach (370-0000N).
Is it ADA compliant for our commercial facility?
Yes — ADA compliant (ADAAG 2010) and third-party verified. Full installation compliance depends on proper anchor installation, clear deck space, and correct height configuration from your Deck Profile data. Call for commercial installation guidance: 866-218-0902.
