A closed-end pouch is sealed at the bottom and discarded when full rather than emptied and reused. This design suits colostomy users who have formed, predictable output and change one to two pouches per day — typically at a scheduled time after irrigation or following a predictable bowel habit. Because the pouch is removed whole and replaced, there is no drainage outlet to manage, making closed-end pouches among the most discreet and comfortable options for active colostomy users. Mini pouches are compact and low-profile for active wear; midi and maxi pouches provide greater capacity for higher-output situations or longer wear between changes. Integrated charcoal filters allow gas to vent through the pouch wall and neutralize odor, reducing the need to release gas manually.
